We need to have a diversified landscape of personal development and social engagement in order to cultivate resiliency and take on the challenges of life.
Meet James Fitzgerald
James Fitzgerald
Founder of OPEX
The guy that paints the picture, James is the founder of OPEX (formerly OPT) and The International Center for Fitness. When not coaching, he’s a full time husband, father and fitness athlete, having played top level soccer, short and long distance running to CrossFit, earning the title of “The Fittest on Earth,” at the 2007 CrossFit Games. His 20+ years of experience and service as a strength coach/technician, tireless practice on refining energy system work, nutritional and lifestyle balancing techniques and training of other coaches has made OPEX a sought after method of bringing fitness to a Higher Order. James has found a desire and passion to understand fitness though assessment, testing, research, programming and more.

Daily Practices for Life
One of the guiding principles we at OPEX preach to the masses is Teach, Learn, Move, Create (#teachlearnmovecreate).
Exercise at the Lake
Equipment is limited when exercising outside of the gym, so we’ll be looking at exercises you can perform with little equipment outside your own bodyweight.
Just Breathe
“breathing is linked to the central nervous system, which means that we can actively shift our body into more of a relaxed state through the use of breath.”
Is Fitness a Priority to You?
“…everyone is unique and has multiple reasons, other than the coaches, to be getting fit.”
Get a Grip
“…no matter where you sit in your fitness level, you should consistently challenge your grip, so that it stays as strong as possible for as long as possible.”
To the Aim!
“Participation in goal setting and tracking how your intentions play out is a great learning exercise. Having a fitness goal can yield many benefits.”
Discovery to Action on My Priorities
An understanding that everyone has a different set of eyes has been the LARGEST factor in my growth as a human and coach and husband and father and son.
Aerobics in a Modern Time
“So, if aerobic exercise feels right for you, how do you get started? The simple answer is: MOVE! That’s it.”
Where Does Fitness Fit in Your Life?
“Fitness can help someone be a better father. It can help employees do their jobs more effectively. Fitness can help people transform their psychology.”
A Return to Fitness is Completely Transformational
The benefits of activity and physical movement are well known, but it’s also well-known that most people in the western world don’t get enough exercise.
Improve Longevity with Resistance Training
We simply don’t move enough so we need exercise to pull us back to NORMAL human working levels.
