Happy Living | Blog “The Kaizen philosophy assumes that our way of life—be it our working life, our social life, or our home life—deserves to be constantly improved.”
(Masaaki Imai[1])

When I first met James FitzGerald, Founder of OPEX and our Happy Living Expert on Personalized Fitness, he told me that my left ass wasn’t working. Really! That’s what he said after a thorough interview and physical assessment. It was very strange, but what he said resonated; he seemed to have an instinctive, almost mystical knowledge of my body and of what it needed to become healthier. That’s why I call him The Body Whisperer.

That first meeting was in August of 2015, and he advised me to focus on two major things:

  1. Re-engaging the muscles in the buttock that moves my left thigh (a.k.a. the gluteus, glute, or my left ass)
  2. Reducing fat in my abdomen and Suprailiac (a.k.a. love handles) to match the other, leaner areas of my body.

So for the last two and a half years, that’s exactly what I’ve done. I hope this video of my journey to optimal health inspires you to believe as I do: a better self is always possible—today and every day—for the rest of our lives.
