“I am thankful for nights that turned into morning, friends that turned into family, and dreams that turned into reality.”
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. In preparation for writing this post, I took some time to reflect on, and do some deeper thinking about, what I am most thankful for in my life. My friend Tiffany Shlain calls this wandering thinking. What I came up with is a mixture of personal and professional things for which I am thankful. In this post, I share my Thankfulness List with you in the hope that it will inspire you to make your own.
So, here is my list:
I am thankful for my morning mantra, which helps me to begin my day with gratitude…
I am grateful to be alive…
I am grateful to be loved…
I am grateful to be in love!
I am thankful for the Seven Wonders of My Life, which bring me joy each day…
My One True Love
My Physical Fitness
My Financial Fitness
My Thirst for Adventure
My Engaging and Heart-Centered Business
I am thankful that, at the mid-way point of my life, I found my Second Half Purpose…
I am on a personal and professional mission to improve the health and wellbeing of the world, one person at a time!
I am thankful that my creative life has exploded as I live that mission each day…
When we first launched Happy Living on March 31, 2014, I wondered how long we could continue finding interesting things to write about. I worried that we’d simply run out of content. What I have discovered is just the opposite. The more we write the more there is to write about. Our very first post, Hello, We’re Happy Living, was published on April 10, 2014. My daughter Kaileen wrote:
“We know that starting something new means we’ll have to struggle through the wobbly phase, but when we’re brave enough to try, discoveries and opportunities appear around every corner. It’s one of the most magical things about life.”
Boy was she right! This is our 273rd post. We’ll hit #300 in February. In addition, we’ve published two books, The Belief Road Map and Turning Inspiration into Action, and we have two more in the editing process right now, Love Letters from the Grave by Paul Gersper and The Greener the Grass by Scott Barry, and have nearly completed the first draft of our fifth, Women of Significance by yours truly. Kaileen’s words have turned out to be so true: Once we jumped, all in, into Happy Living, new discoveries and opportunities have indeed appeared around every corner!
I am thankful for new friends…
Growing our online community at Happy Living is like meeting new friends every day. I am grateful each and every time someone joins our Free Membership, follows us on Facebook or Twitter, or reads one of our books. We value the confidence you place in us. We strive to honor that confidence by delivering the highest quality content. Content that aims to inspire you to believe a better self is always possible – today, every day, for the rest of your life. I am proud and humbled that so far, our words have reached more than 5,000 friends, in more than a dozen countries, all around the world!
I am thankful for new partnerships…
It has been a true pleasure growing our connections with like-minded professionals and organizations that share our mission. I am truly thankful for our Happy Living Experts; Stephanie Dunne, James FitzGerald, and Dr. Tom Sult. Their expertise, dedication to helping others, and genuine care shows in their writing every month. Our platform at Happy Living has attracted other deeply inspiring professional voices to share their wisdom with us too; Darryl Edwards, Jennifer Landis, Sarah Kaufman, Will Hartfield, Ethan Wright and Abel James. Before year-end, we’ll be introducing you to one more guest writer; Wendy Van de Poll.
I am thankful for discovering Paleo f(x) and Make-A-Wish, and for rediscovering my alma mater U.C. Davis. During this past year I felt a special connection with each of these organizations. Something in my heart tells me each one is important to me. And I’ve learned to follow my heart because it knows where my happiness lies.
I am grateful that my dad Paul Gersper and my friend Scott Barry have put their trust in Happy Living Books Independent Publishers to bring their wonderful books to life and, one day soon, into your hands.
I am thankful for Kyle and Kelly…
My son Kyle Gersper, Content Manager, and Kelly McKain, Content Editor, give me the space to be creative while they work diligently to make sure our content is delivered to you in a timely and professional manner, and looking beautiful, too!
So, as you can see, I feel very thankful indeed, and hopeful too. I hope this post has you thinking about what you are most thankful for in your life.
