How Are You Embracing Summer? | happyliving.com

“There is a wonderful mythical law of nature that the three things we crave most in life ‑ happiness, freedom, and peace of mind ‑ are always attained by giving them to someone else.”
(Peyton Conway March)

I’m embracing summer with open arms.

The past month has been rocky, but I can feel change coming. It has been hard to ignore the fact that summer is fully, completely here. The shifting seasons and passage of time are reminders that everything we experience is fleeting. Moments of joy, heartbreak, struggle, and celebration – are all temporary. This is both a gift and a curse. It is the magic of this experience we call life.

I’m embracing summer with open arms.

This week I am revisiting the goals and priorities I set for 2015, keeping what resonates, letting go of what doesn’t, and cultivating my ideal outcome for the next 5 months. When the year comes to a close, how do I want to feel? Who do I want in my life? Where do I want to be? What do I want to have accomplished? What goals do I want within my reach?

I’m embracing summer with open arms.

From the silly to the serious, I am ready to embrace what life brings. Summer is the season of fresh fruit and cold drinks. Summer is the season of trying new things and cherishing old favorites. My husband and I will celebrate his 31st birthday. Family and friends will visit us in Austin. We’ll lie by the pool, enjoy the warmth of the sun, treasure these fleeting moments, and appreciate life as it is.
