Skin is our body’s largest organ and is one indicator of healthy living.

The environment, toxins, and stress have an effect on the aging process. While most skincare products only improve complexion at the surface level, I found two that help replenish skin deep within the cells.

I have conducted an unofficial research experiment to see if I could improve the appearance of my skin by increasing its cellular hydration. The selfie on the left was taken on May 17, 2014 and the one on the right on December 3, 2014 — two hundred days later.

In the time between these two pictures, I implemented a daily practice of applying one moisturizing cream every morning and another face lotion each evening.

The products I use claim to combine the power of nature with human biology to dramatically reduce the appearance of aging. Along with diet, nutrition, sleep, and nutritional supplements, I am revitalizing my skin from the inside, out.

The morning cream is designed to hydrate and protect skin. It contains SPF 15 and proprietary ingredients to maintain 24/7 cellular hydration.

The evening application is also a hydrating treatment. It works through the night to leave my skin feeling refreshed and renewed. It contains revitalizing polypeptides and retinol to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

The result? My skin looks and feels smoother, healthier, and revitalized.

This experiment has taught me two things:

First, there are a lot of products out there with a wide range of beneficial claims. Taking a methodical approach to testing the effectiveness of my skincare routine has allowed me to feel good about using these two products.

Second, making time for self-care has a positive ripple effect. When I started using the creams each morning and night, I also examined the rest of my daily routines. This awareness led to other subtle changes, like implementing a daily meditation practice. I am on my 44th straight day of meditating… and feeling great!
